More about "The Rain Mix" 1 Year Anniversary

Miami based veteran dj and producer Mickey Nightrain is celebrating his first anniversary hosting his show The Rain Mix on Sense.FM . The show airs the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month on the Progressive Channel. Mickey aims to bring forth fresh underground deep house, tech house and techno from not only the industry stalwarts but the up and coming producers as well. As label owner of Nightrain Music , he is able to get his hands on the newest sounds and bring them out to the listeners often months before the tracks are formally released which makes his show a looking glass into the near future of tech house sub genres. “I like to stay right on top of the music for this radio show so I rarely play anything more than 2 weeks old unless it’s a classic thrown in there for good measure.”, says Mickey.

A successful producer in his own right, Nightrain has released his best work to date in his “Ethiopia EP” including the two tracks “Ten Grains of Sand” and “Axum” which has received support from a wide variety of tastemakers like Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Axwell, Matt Darey, Donald Glaude and many more. The ep is available now on Beatport and is one of the featured tech house releases of the week.

“No matter what happens I’ll always be a dj first…there’s just no better feeling than connecting with people in a live setting.” states Mickey. The 31 year old has done a lot of connecting over the past 12 years and is also known for his contributions to the legendary Frankie Bones’ labels as Dj Maximus.

With regular gigs across the US and recent offers to locales such as Ibiza and China, it’s clear that Mickey’s brand of twisted house and techno is catching on with more and more each day.
