Aku & Ghazaly
| Aku & Ghazaly - "Universal Trance Sessions" |
Aku & Ghazaly Biography Hmmm... How should we start this? Well first of all let’s start by introducing our selves. Ali Amin Sherry a.k.a. Aku. Ali is a seventeen year old Lebanese trance music lover, but not as much as Mohamed Magdy Ghazaly of course :P, also seventeen years old, born in a little town near Chicago called Joliet. After moving to Cairo since 2002, Ali & Mohamed have been together as friends, almost brothers I would say and it will stay that way as long as we live. The origin of the name “Aku” is a long story, and it’s pretty obvious where name “Ghazaly” comes from! Trance music has been and will always be a huge part of our lives. We've been listening to it for almost three years now. Not much compared to other trance music listeners, but it’s been enough experience to make us love it. We took a step forward towards DJing on November 8th 2008, mixing our first set, and we called it “Sound of Trance 001”. Every month, we mixed one set after the other, until we reached “Sound of Trance 005”. It aired on a fellow Egyptians DJ's show on radios such as “Liquid FM” & “Tribal mixes FM”, DJ Joe Shadows. As we got a lot of positive feedback from the audience, we decided to keep on going. Along the way came many DJs like DJ Joe Shadows that helped as in a massive way. One of the most helpful and supportive DJs is DJ Craig London, the man we appreciate the most. “Sound of Trance 007” was the next set that appeared on DJ London's monthly show on the very well known “Afterhours FM”. Grabbing a lot of attention from the listeners, we were very pleased to say they actually enjoyed our set! The third and final appearance as guests for us, before we got what we hope will be our big break, is a "Sound of Trance 010" guest mix on DJ Wally's show on “Citybeat Radio” which unfortunately shutdown a couple months back.
